Dr. Ricardo R. Quinn
Dr. Ricardo Quinn is the principal and instructional leader of Chesney Elementary School. Before being named principal, Dr. Quinn served as an Administrative Intern at Duluth High School and as an Assistant Principal at Hopkins Elementary School and Arcado Elementary School. Prior to becoming a school leader, he taught as a fifth grade teacher at Suwanee Elementary School.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Albany State University and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee Technological University. He also earned an Ed. D. in School Leadership from Regent University. Dr. Quinn is an officer and a veteran who continues to serve his country in the United States Army Reserve.
Dr. Quinn enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with his family and students at Chesney Elementary.

Dr. Syllen Hill
Dr. Hill began her teaching career 27 years ago in Gainesville, Florida, where she served as an elementary school teacher prior to relocating to Gwinnett County. In GCPS, she continued as an elementary teacher at Shiloh Elementary School for eleven years before becoming an Assistant Principal at Shiloh Middle School. Dr. Hill is married to her middle school sweetheart and Army Veteran, Reginald. They have a son named Joshua, who is a sophomore in college. Dr. Hill has a passion for education and considers herself a "game changer" for children. Dr. Hill's favorite educational phrase is "We're here for the kids. When you keep that at the forefront, excellence is always the result."

Ms. Leslie Lipman
Mrs. Lipman is in her 30th year of education and most recently served as an Assistant Principal at Chesney ES for 20 years. She retired at the end of the 24-25 school year. This year, she returned to work as a part time AP to help support the students and teachers of Chesney. She continues to live by the motto, "Do what's best for kids". Mrs. Lipman enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam, her high school daughter, Hannah and her dog, Travis. You can find her on weekends in the fall cheering on her Georgia Bulldogs! GO DAWGS!

Mrs. Alicia Lyman
Mrs. Lyman is in her 18th year of education and most recently served as the Lead Special Education Teacher at Pharr Elementary School right here in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Her previous experience spans from preschool through high school inclusive of ASD Level 2 teacher and Lead mentor for Mentor Gwinnett. Mrs. Lyman is married to her amazing husband, Wes and has a four-year old dog, named Bleu. She is an avid reader, self-proclaimed foodie with a love for traveling. Her passion has always been rooted in the belief that all children can learn. She is a dedicated knowledge seeker who supports and fosters the growth of both children and educators.

Ms. Jo-Ann Mercado
Ms. Mercado is in her 6th year of teaching and most recently served as the lead teacher for CES' second-grade team. While serving as the grade level leader, Ms. Mercado's leadership resulted in high levels of teacher effectiveness and increased student learning outcomes. Ms. Mercado is certainly a leader-learner having most recently graduated from GCPS' Teachers as Leader program and from Thomas University, where she received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. In May, she was accepted into the GCPS Aspiring Leaders Program. Ms. Mercado is deeply committed to serving students, teachers, parents, and the CES community. She certainly prioritizes continuous personal and professional growth in all of her endeavors! Ms. Mercado is so ready to continue as a leader right here at Chesney ES!
